Nestling between the magnificent Berwyns and their foothills, guarded by the fortress
of Chirk Castle lies the secret hidden beauty of the Ceiriog Valley. Its peace and
tranquility belies its proximity to the bustling town of Chirk, the busy A5 and the
major centres of Llangollen and Wrexham.
Get away from the crowds. Drive down the valley on the B5400 from Chirk by the side
of the rushing, fast flowing river Ceiriog with its steeply wooded slopes.
At Pontfadog the valley opens up and you see the sweep of the hills. Onwards through
Glyn Ceiriog and up to Llanarmon and enjoy the wonderful countryside.
If you feel brave then you can drive on the minor roads and gain the high ridges
and wild moorlands with their panoramic views of the Berwyns, The Vale of Llangollen,
Trevor Rocks and the Cheshire and Shropshire plains.
